Withholding tax: No strike in most parts of province
The businessmen vehemently opposed the imposition of a withholding tax, saying they will not accept an unjust levy
PESHAWAR:
Businessmen and traders in the city turned a deaf ear to the call for a strike against the imposition of a withholding tax on Wednesday. Almost all shopping centres and markets remained open and economic and industrial activities did not screech to a halt. However, businessmen from Dil Jan Plaza held a protest against the levy outside Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday. The businessmen vehemently opposed the imposition of a withholding tax, saying they will not accept an unjust levy.
