Affan | 9 years ago | Reply @chachoo please visit the area before commenting. There is no such cultivable area. Compensation is for the people houses and you know most of it as corruption. Same goes with bhasha barren area no body lives but ppp govt spend 70 billion to purchase that land. And in this budget they again put 23 billion for that. And the only construction is a sign board telling bhasha dam site and a tunnel.
Chachoo | 9 years ago | Reply @Asad Khan: So you are stating that dams do not destroy any Irrigable land. So the compensation of more than 50 Billion in the construction of Dasu Dam is a farce?. Kindly enhance your knowledge about it. Also Dasu Dam's report state that more than 50,000 Acres of land will be affected in that region. So these Engineers are lying?. Also you circumvent my statement about Ayub Khan that he made the decision on his own to give all the rivers that flow from Punjab to India. Mr Ayub Khan never bothered to take anyone from Punjab into confidence while deciding about the future of all the rivers. Pakistan was as stronger as India in the late 50s but Ayub Khan's was adamant that all rivers of Punjab should be given to India at all costs. He never arranged any conference or any meeting on this issue and just made the decision on his own. World bank did ask Pakistan during that time to give ideas and suggestion that Mr Ayub Khan and his cabinet stated that they have no objections as long as all the rivers of Punjab will be given to India. The real history of stubbornness and regional hatred is far more gruesome that what is being taught by spin master storytellers.
