ISLAMABAD:

The things I will miss most about Pakistan are the loving people and peace and quiet of Islamabad as Cairo is a very busy, hustling and bustling city.

This was said by Egyptian Ambassador Saiid Hindam late Monday night when he hosted a dinner to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the Egyptian revolution and say goodbye as he leaves Islamabad after a three year term.

The reception was inaugurated with national anthems of Egypt and Pakistan.

Ambassador Hindam emphasised the role Egypt played after the revolution in liberation of Arab and African countries preaching pan-Arabism, pan-Islamism and non-alignment.

The ambassador praised the New Suez Canal project and regarded it as Egypt’s gift to the world. Chief guest at the event, Defence Production Minister Rana Tanveer praised the positive relations of the two countries.

Furthermore, the ambassador gave special emphasis on the visit of the Egyptian ministers of defence and defence production to Pakistan recently which he described as a landmark in relations.

After cake cutting ceremony, guests were treated to an entirely Egyptian menu. Hindam leaves Pakistan at the end of the month.
