The Punjab government has released an additional grant of Rs20 million to complete work on five police stations in the garrison city.
Work on the police stations had stopped due to a shortage of funds.
The government has allocated Rs0.4 million each for City, Saddar Bairuni, Murree, Kahuta and Kotli Sattian police stations.
Sources said the construction of the five police stations will be completed within the next six months hopefully. Meanwhile, a car was stolen from a house within the City police limits on Tuesday, said an official.
Adnan Sharif lodged a complaint with the local police that auto-thieves had stolen his Suzuki Mehran (LEB-9871) from the porch of his house at Liaquat Road. The police registered a case and are searching for the suspected thieves.
