Tragic : Two killed in separate incidents

A man was killed, four others injured when a jeep fell into a deep ravine.

MUZAFFARABAD: At least two people were killed in separate incidents in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday, police said.

A woman allegedly committed suicide over a domestic feud in Joora, Neelum Valley.

The police said that the mother of three, Gulnaz Bibi, resident of Leaswa Ath Muqam, jumped into the Neelum River. The residents of the area tried their best to fish her body out from the river but did not succeed.

Later the police and rescue workers managed to recover the body near Seemari area of Joora, Neelum Valley.

The police have registered a case and started investigation to ascertain the motive behind the suicide of the woman. Family members of the deceased claimed that Gulnaz Bibi was not mentally stable.

Meanwhile, in a road accident a man was killed, while four other members of his family received critical injuries when a jeep fell into a deep ravine, while negotiating a sharp curve near Kapa Gali, Leepa Valley.

The police said that the deceased was identified as Nazir Ahmad Awan, while his son Sajjid Awan, daughter-in-law Ateeqa and two daughters, Sugra and Affia received injuries. The injured were shifted to Muzaffarabad for medical treatment. The injured were stated to be in critical condition.
