Convicted: Death penalty awarded for murder, kidnapping

The court sentenced them to life imprisonment and directed them to pay Rs100,000 fines each

Additional Sessions Judge Chaudhary Muhammad Ilyas on Saturday awarded death sentence and life imprisonment to two men convicted of kidnapping and murder.



Prosecution said Abdus Salam and Nadeem, residents of Chak 157-RB, and their accomplice Najma Bibi had abducted Younus and had killed him in 2012. After examining the evidence and hearing the witnesses, the judge sentenced Salam and Nadeem to death under Section 302-B of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The convicts were also directed to pay Rs500,000 compensation to heirs of the deceased. The court sentenced them to life imprisonment and directed them to pay Rs100,000 fines each. The judge acquitted Bibi giving her the benefit of doubt.
