Unopposed: Aziz Suharwardy elected as CBC vice-president

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) Aziz Suharwardy has been elected unopposed as the vice-president of the Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC).

According to CBC spokesperson Amir Arab Ali, Suharwardy was elected unopposed even though there were contestants from other parties such as the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Jamaat-e-Islami and the Pakistan Peoples Party.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Suharwardy said that partial democracy has been restored after 18 years. "For the last eighteen years, the residents were not being heard by the DHA."

The first issue that Suharwardy plans to take up is the water crisis. "DHA has failed to provide water as the developer. They never took us on board regarding the desalination plan. Our first priority is to increase water quantity." He also plans to bring in changes to street lights and the infrastructure of traffic signals in the locality.
