KARACHI: The Sindh United Party (SUP) expressing its surprise over the Judicial Commission's report on the alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections, described it as 'a report issued after blindfolding justice'.

Addressing a press conference at Haider Manzil after attending the party meeting on Wednesday, the SUP president, Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah, said "There is a lot of evidence of rigging polls and ambushing the people's mandate in Sindh and Balochistan, but unfortunately the Judicial Commission kept silent over the murder of democracy in two provinces, as a result of the so-called culture of reconciliation".

Referring to the local bodies elections, the SUP noted, with concern, that massive irregularities have taken place in the delimitations and that the voters' lists have not been placed at most of the display centres.

The deadline should be extended for voters to get the lists rectified, the party demanded.
