KARACHI: The Sindh government has appointed Muhammad Waseem as senior member of the board of revenue after he refused to take charge as the Karachi administrator.

The post of the board of revenue's senior member was lying vacant after Mumtaz Ali Shah was transferred and appointed as chairperson of the anti-corruption department a few days ago.

According to the notification issued by the Sindh government, the charge of Karachi administrator has been given once again to Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui.

This is the fourth time that the charge of Karachi administrator was rotated in the last month and a half. Earlier, the charge was given to Roshan Shaikh, the then director general of the Solid Waste Management Board, after Saquib Soomro left for abroad.

Later, Siddiqui was asked to look after the affairs of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. A few days later, the government had notified giving the charge of the coveted post to Muhammad Waseem, an additional chief secretary on grade 21. Waseem, however, refused to take over the charge, reasoning that he could not work under the incumbent local government secretary who was a junior officer.

Meanwhile, Asad Zaman has been appointed the legal director of the anti-corruption department.
