Italy’s army chief says he sees Pakistan Army with respect and admiration and vowed to eliminate terrorism together

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif was presented guard of honor by Italy’s military at their headquarters on Tuesday.

General Raheel Sharif is currently on a three-day official visit to Italy where he met his Italian counterpart and discussed military relations, enhancing cooperation, defence cooperation and training.




The COAS also met the country's Defence Forces chief who appreciated Pakistan’s success and expertise in fighting against terrorism, DG ISPR Major-General Asim Bajwa tweeted.




According to Bajwa, Italy’s Army Chief Lieutenant General Danilo Errico said that he saw Pakistan Army with respect and admiration and vowed to eliminate terrorism together.



Earlier on Monday, Italy’s foreign minister commended the army for its positive role in ensuring regional peace and security.

According to Maj-Gen Bajwa, COAS General Raheel Sharif is on a three-day official visit to Italy, where he met with Italy’s foreign minister and visited Air Defence headquarters. A number of meetings with Italy’s political and military leadership have been lined up for the bilateral visit.
