Cross Border : LoC shelling injured dies in Rawalpindi

The minister said the AJK government will provide a relief package to the deceased’s family

MUZAFFARABAD: A civilian injured by firing from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Chirikot Abbaspur sector died in Rawalpindi on Sunday. The villager, identified as Muhammad Wasim, was seriously injured due to firing by the Indian army in Abbaspur area of Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Saturday morning. Wasim was rushed to Combined Military Hospital Rawalpindi for treatment where he later lost his life. The deceased was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Abbaspur. Thousands of people attended the funeral and appealed to the international community to take notice of Indian army’s indiscriminate firing on the civilian population near the LoC. AJK minister for Rehabilitation Abdul Majid Khan condemned Wasim’s death. The minister said the AJK government will provide a relief package to the deceased’s family.
