The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has issued notices to 20 property owners over illegal construction.


An RCB spokesman said several raids have been conducted by the board’s building control department teams and owners of buildings and structures constructed illegally have been issued notices.


The staff conducted raids in several areas including Peshawar Road, Tench Bhatta, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Colony, Habib Colony, British Homes, Afshan Colony, Masrial Road, Allama Iqbal Colony and Pirwadhai and building rules violators were served notices.


The official shared that revenue generation has also increased considerably after similar recent raids as residents are submitting building plans to obtain a formal approval.


The building control department also issued 16 notices to residents of dangerous and old buildings in Kamalabad, Tench Bhatta, Umar Farooq Colony, Afshan Colony, he added.
