HANGU:

A resident of Hangu has demanded strict action be taken against a Hangu City policeman who allegedly thrashed his sons without any reason.

Syed Farooq Shah said during a news conference at Hangu Press Club that he was at Hangu Bazaar with his sons a day before Eidul Fitr when a police officer, Qadir, came and asked him to move his car which was parked in a lot. Farooq added he asked the official to let him wait for his sons who had gone inside a shop.

When Farooq did not move the car, the official started misbehaving with him and when his sons returned from the shop, the official took the two boys to the police station where he and other police personnel reportedly beat them up. Farooq said he was also issued a challan for parking his car “in the wrong spot”.  Jamshed and Rahat, Farooq’s sons, showed journalists the marks left by the thrashing.

Farooq appealed to the provincial government, K-P IGP Nasir Khan Durrani and other police officials to take strict action against Qadir.
