Disabled Cricketers: PCAPH to hold protest against PCB

PCAPH to hold a demonstration against PCB

APP July 25, 2015

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Association for the Physically  Handicapped (PCAPH) will hold a demonstration in front of the offices of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in Lahore on Monday for not affiliating the body like others. In a statement, PCAPH secretary Waqar Ahmed pointed out that the PCB had recognised the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association (PDCA) in 2010, even though it only consists of current match referees, umpires and coaches of PCB. The PCAPH, he said, included all those physically handicapped players who had taken the initiative to start cricket in Pakistan as well as in the subcontinent, yet it was not recognised by the PCB. The association was advised by the PCB to coordinate with the PCAPH for the betterment of handicapped cricket, but PDCA Secretary Amiruddin Ansari, who is a match referee on the PCB panel, never gave any positive response, he added.
