Safoora carnage: ATC remands two more suspects to prison
Both were arrested with Saad Aziz and Tahir Hussain
KARACHI:
An anti-terrorism court remanded on Saturday two more suspects to police custody in the Safoora bus attack case as they were implicated by investigators two months after their arrest.
The police produced Azhar Ishrat alias Majid alias Khoobsurat and Hafiz Nasir alias Yasir before the ATC-I. They were arrested along with accused Saad Aziz alias Tin Tin and Tahir Hussain alias Saien after an encounter with the Counter-Terrorism Department in Gulshan-e-Maymar on May 20 in connection with the bloody massacre.
The investigating officer submitted before the ATC-I judge, Bashir Ahmed Khoso, that he had obtained a no-objection certificate for the suspects’ arrest in the main case from the other court, which had sent the suspect to the jail. He pleaded to grant him physical remand of the suspects for questioning, which the judge approved until August 8.
