QUETTA: Former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Friday said the verdict of the judicial commission on the 2013 elections was a victory for the judiciary and the truth.

“The lawyers, judges and truth have won,” he told reporters in Quetta. Iftikhar Chaudhry said the allegation against him and the superior judiciary had been proven false and baseless.

“I am truly thankful to Allah who made us triumphant against fake allegations about the last general elections and the recent judgment of SC proved that the judiciary remained impartial during the last polls,” Iftikhar Chaudhry claimed.

“We need to examine the situation that developed following allegations of rigging in the general elections,” he said. “We have to bring reforms so that no one could take advantage of the politics of blame.”

“Lawyers from all over Pakistan have decided to gather in Islamabad where we will inform people about our stance regarding the judicial commission report,” he said.

In response to a question about his career options, he said that since Balochistan was his home he was keen to start his political career in that province. “We will have a national party spread out across the country but the beginning of my political career will start from Quetta”.

Chaudhry said after the joint commission report now it is the responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan, political parties and legislators to overview the entire election process.

Please leave this country, we do not need corrupt people like you. Pl stay away. You manage Arsalan Iftikhar only.
Bilal | 9 years ago | Reply Choudhary Sb you must sue the shirt off Imran Khan's back for all the defamation he did. He deserves nothing better. He was never the sharpest tool in the shed but he was nothing short of nasty over the last 2 years.
