RAWALPINDI:

Recent monsoon rains have exposed the unpreparedness level of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) as almost all streets and roads in the low-lying areas of the garrison city stand flooded.

The choked drainage system and trash have turned Range Road and Misriyal Road into a heap of garbage, complained residents. Roads in many areas have also been damaged due to the choked sewers.

Residents have also complained that RCB has not removed the garbage and mud from the streets. Garbage and encroachments have also choked up water streams running through the RCB jurisdiction.

Residents said they had lodged several complaints with the cantonment board but nothing changed.

Many residents said they had to pump out the rainwater out of their homes and streets. A senior RCB official, on the condition of anonymity, admitted the poor performance of the board and said that it needed a shake-up in order to make it deliver.

Top people houses & locality are safe with minimum problem, so why should they care ? keep on voting for them, democracy is the best revenge, so these people should not complain but pump out water from their houses & divert it to these big bosses houses, your locality will be safe & clean, if you all collectively can do this you all will be ok, otherwise do not complain.
