Mahira Khan returns to Indian TV with hit drama Shehr-e-Zaat

India loves Mahira Khan just as much as we do, if not more. After Humsafar, India wants more of the Pakistani actress and this time they are getting to watch her hit TV drama Shehr-e-Zaat.

The serial also stars Mikaal Zulfiqar, Mohib Mirza and Samina Peerzada. According to India Today, it will be aired on Zindagi channel. However, a premiere date has not been announced yet.

Shehr-e-Zaat is a romantic drama based on a novel by Umera Ahmed. The serial directed by Sarmad Khoosat and co-produced by Momina Duraid and Abdullah Kadwani was aired in Pakistan in 2012.


The story revolves around a girl named Falak, played by Mahira, who falls in love with Salman Ansar (Mikaal Zulfiqar). They soon get married but after sometime Salman starts cheating on Falak with his colleague Tabinda. Upon seeing Tabinda and her plain looks, Falak goes on a journey of self discovery with the help of her grandmother played by Samina Peerzada and embraces the true essence of Islam. After letting go of the hollowness and worldly pursuits, Falak accepts Salman back in her life after he leaves Tabinda.

Both Humsafar co-stars Mahira and Fawad have been making waves in India and for all the right reasons. People cannot get enough of these two Pakistani actors.

While Fawad made his Bollywood debut with Khoobsurat (2014) alongside B-Town's fashionista Sonam Kapoor, Mahira is making her Bollywood debut with Raees alongside King Khan which will release on Eid next year.
