The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) in a crackdown during Eidul Fitr holidays netted 19 youngsters found indulged in performing wheelies, rash and dangerous driving.     


According to police officials, a special operation on the directive of Senior Superintendent of Police Shoaib Khurram Janbaz was launched on Chand Raat under the supervision of deputy superintendents police (DSPs) at Airport Road, Peshawar Road, Jhelum Road near Ayub Park, Saddar, Murree Road and other roads.

As many as 28 motorcycles used for one-wheeling were impounded while 365 motorcycles were seized under sections 550 and 115 of the motor-vehicles ordinance.

Strict orders were issued to all the traffic wardens, inspectors and DSPs of all sectors that action in accordance with law should be taken against one-wheelers and no one should be spared, officials added.
