Terror bids foiled: Arms seized on Charsadda border

During Eid holidays, two explosive devices were defused in Tank and Kurram Agency

Police foiled a terror bid along the Charsadda-Mohmand border on the second day of Eid on Saturday.  Wilayat Khan of the Sro Kali police station said they received a tip on a potential attack.


Based on the information, they seized a large quantity of ammunition near Ekka Ghund police check post. A bag with 112 MMG shells and 34,000 rounds was seized.

The night before Eid, unidentified people attacked a police van in Shabqadar bazaar with a hand grenade, resulting in injuries to the vehicle’s driver and around a dozen people who were in the nearby market area.

During Eid holidays, two explosive devices were defused in Tank and Kurram Agency.

Some unidentified persons had installed a 15 kilogramme (kg) bomb on the gate of Hazrat Abbas Alamdar Imambargh in Tank district on Sunday.

Police received a tip-off and reached the site along with bomb disposal unit and security personnel. The BDU personnel neutralised the bomb.

On the same day in Lower Kurram Agency, security forces foiled a terror bid by defusing a 5-kg bomb in Pir Qayyum locality of Sadda.
