Indian troops violate LoC ceasefire on Eid: ISPR
DG ISPR Asim Bajwa says it is ironic that Indians 'violate and also accuse'
RAWALPINDI:
India's Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday resorted to 'unprovoked' firing along the Line of Control (LOC) near Nezapir Sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
While no casualties were reported, the ISPR said such violations were regular on festive occasions.
“Indians fire across LoC at Nezapir again. Pattern shows they resort to such violations every festive occasion. Ironic they violate and also accuse,” said DG ISPR Major General Asim Bajwa in a tweet.
The recent spree of firing at LoC started earlier this week. Pakistan Army on Friday registered India’s ceasefire violations with the United Nations Military Observers Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) as unprovoked Indian shelling from across the LoC killed another Pakistani civilian.
According to the military’s media wing, Pakistan Army highlighted the Indian use of heavy mortars and machine guns on civil population living along the Working Boundary (WB) and the LoC.

The girl was the fourth Pakistani civilian killed by the Indian shelling in the last two days. A day earlier, three Pakistanis were killed and five others sustained injuries due to Indian firing along the WB and the LoC.
Earlier, the Foreign Office had summoned Indian High Commissioner Dr T C A Raghavan and registered a strong protest with him over violation of Pakistani airspace by an Indian drone.
