The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) passed a resolution on Friday in favour of the ongoing operation mounted by the paramilitary Rangersin Karachi.


The PBC finance committee pointed out that the influx of terrorism in the city had brought business activities to a standstill. People are at the mercy of terrorists, it said while appreciating the efforts of the Rangers.


The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Syed Qulbi Hassan, agreed that civil agencies failed to control the law and order situation and hence it was a decided by the federal government on the Sindh government’s request to deploy the Rangers.


“The finance committee of the PBC strongly appreciates the Rangers’ targeted operation and supports its continuation till the situation in Karachi is back to normal. At the same, the committee also appeals all peace loving forces especially political parties to back and support the rangers operation in the larger national interest and stability of Pakistan”.
