22 farmers freed from grower’s prison

Police freed as many as 22 farmers, including women and children, from a prison run by local grower in the Windar area of Lasbela district on Thursday.
“Around six women, four men and 12 children were recovered from the jail run by grower Jan Mohammad in Windar,” an official of Hub police told The Express Tribune. He said Hub police raided the prison under directions from Sessions Judge Rashid Umrani and arrested the grower who ran it as well. According to the official, the imprisoned farmers all hailed from Hyderabad, Sindh. He added that investigations against the grower are currently under way.
