QUETTA:

A special train designated for the festive occasion of Eid chugged off the platform on Quetta Railway Station carrying over 900 passengers on Wednesday.

Offering a discount of 50 per cent, the Eid Special Train service helps thousands of people reach home for Eid. Deputy Superintendent (DS) Railway Faiz Mohamamd Bugti seeing off the passengers at Quetta Railway Station said that Quetta railways centre provided all available facilities to the passengers.

He said that railway has always run the Eid train, however, this year Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique increased the number of trains and the discount on tickets.

DS Railways said he has no knowledge of tickets being sold in black. “If anybody from railway department is found guilty of selling tickets in black, I will suspend him,” Bugti said.

However, a Rawalpindi bound passenger, Sarfaraz, contradicted the claims of DS Railways. “After six days of failed visits to the railway booking office I bought the ticket in black from outside,” Sarfaraz said talking to The Express Tribune.
