LAHORE: A consumer court issued a notice to a tailor on Tuesday in a Rs50,000 suit filed against him for not stitching suits of the petitioner in time. Jamil Ahmed had told the court that he had given a piece of cloth, valuing Rs5,000, to Hassan for stitching five suits. He said Hassan had asked him to collect the suits on May 15. “When I visited him on the given date, he said he had not stitched the suits yet,” he said. Ahmed said the tailor had then given him another date which he again did not abide by. He said he had wanted to wear the dresses on his cousin’s wedding but could not owing to Hassan’s negligence. He requested the court to direct Hassan to pay Rs50,000 in damages.
