Missing Minister: NA’s food body meeting delayed

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s committee on National Food Security and Research deferred a discussion on re-planning of the National Agriculture and Research Council site for revenue generation and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) as the National Food Security and Research Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan has left to perform Umrah. The meeting of the committee was held under the chairmanship of Malik Shakir Bashir Awan on Tuesday and It was decided that the meeting would be convened on the same agenda in presence of the minister after Eid holidays or during the next session of the assembly. The committee also considered the interim progress of the sub-committee regarding substandard wheat import from Ukraine. The committee unanimously agreed to extend the time period of the sub-committee for three months to achieve an appropriate and result-oriented outcome.
