Five cops held for trespassing

BAHAWALPUR:


An FIR was registered on Sunday against five policemen for illegally entering a house and violating privacy of the inmates.


According to Naseer Abbas’s complaint registered at Nishat Colony police station, his son Aitzaz Ahsan was being harassed by an assistant sub inspector. Abbas said on July 7, his brother had called him and told him that policemen were at his house.  He said the policemen had no search warrants and misbehaved with his family. He said they also beat his son and took away Rs80,000, three tolas gold, five silver rings, cell phones and a pistol. Bahawalpur DPO Sarfraz Ahmad Falki issued orders for the registration of a case against five officials deployed of Kotwali police station, including ASI Ramazan, constables Muhammad Maki, Imran Shah, Asif Channar and Squad In Charge Safdar Bhatti.  Separately, RPO Ehsan Sadiq on Sunday suspended 13 assistant sub inspectors on charges of corruption and summoned them to his office.
