Tinkering with the truth

Tinkering with the truth

NEW ORLEANS: This is with reference to Amina Jilani’s article ‘Tinkering with the truth’ (April 25). For decades I have been a devoted reader of Ms Jilani and I am glad to have rediscovered her in your newspaper. I remember her for her integrity, consistency and clarity of thought. Nothing could be more pertinent than what she has said about the 18th amendment being celebrated by our ruling mafia.

What shocks me is there are no potent opposing voices to this dirty trick played on the people in Pakistan. I remember once upon a time the sage from Chakwal said that we in Pakistan are so unlucky that there is no light at either end of the tunnel. On the one side was Benazir and on the other Nawaz Sharif. And who do we have now? Zardari and Gilani?
