PESHAWAR:

Police head constable Jannat Gul, a resident of Malogi village on the outskirts of the city, was shot dead in the Ishrat Cinema Chowk area near Gulbahar Friday afternoon.

Gul, along with another constable Shafqat, had been deployed in Gulbahar on a special assignment of curbing street crime in the area. “There has been a steady increase in robberies in the area. The two patrolled the area in plain clothes in order to not attract attention,” said an official of the local police station.
