KARACHI: Five key prosecution witnesses identified two suspects involved in the Safoora Goth bus carnage during an identification parade on Friday.

The witnesses identified Tahir Hussain Minhas alias Sain and Saad Aziz alias Tin Tin as the primary accused for shooting dead 45 members of the Ismaili community and filming the massacre on the outskirts of Karachi on May 13.

The two, along with their arrested accomplice, Asadur Rehman alias Malik, and others who are not yet in custody, have been booked for allegedly masterminding and executing the attack.

On Friday, Malir judicial magistrate Asghar Ali Tanwiri conducted the identification parade. Court officials said that the two suspects were lined up along with dummies in front of the eyewitnesses, who correctly identified them.

The eyewitnesses deposed that Minhas was one of the shooters while Aziz filmed the ruthless attack in the style of the Islamic State. The arrested suspects and their fleeing accomplices are also facing trial in a number of other cases, including an attempt on the life of US national Debra Lobo and the murder of The Second Floor director Sabeen Mahmud.
