FAISALABAD:

Scores of residents of Faisal Town on Wednesday staged a protest against the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company for failing to repair a transformer in their neighbourhood. The protesters gathered at Tandlianwala-Faisalabad Road.

Ghulam Fareed, one of the protesters, said there was only one transformer in Faisal Town which had broken down on Monday. “There has been no power in our neighbourhood for three days,” he said. He said dozens of complaints had been lodged with the FESCO but no steps had been taken to repair the transformer.

“The government said there will be uninterrupted power during iftar and sehri,” he said.

Later, Tandlianwala policemen met the protesters and assured them that the transformer would be replaced.
