The Punjab government has accorded approval to purchase a state-of-the-art MRI machine for the Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi at a cost of Rs200 million.
The old MRI machine of the hospital, which had been purchased 10 years back at a cost of Rs160 million, had gone dysfunctional soon after it was installed. But the company refused to replace the machine and the hospital was without the facility since then.
A hospital source said that tenders will soon be floated to get the MRI machine.
The source also said that attendants of patients have been facing problems after four public toilets were demolished to construct new water tank at the hospital. The attendants of the patients have demanded that public toilets should be set up again.
