MINGORA: Residents of Gul Kada, Swat took to the streets over prolonged power outages in the locality. Protesters, led by village councillor Rahat Ali, marched towards Circuit House and gathered outside Swat Press Club on Tuesday morning. They shouted slogans against the federal and provincial governments. “Whenever we approach Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, they ask us to vote for their party if we want uninterrupted power supply,” Ali told protesters. “We don’t have electricity because we voted for Awami National Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.” Ali said their grievances could not be addressed immediately as their local MPA was not in the country. He urged Chief Justice of Pakistan Nasirul Mulk to take notice of the matter.
