The family of a man shot dead Tuesday night protested against Khal police for not arresting the culprit. During the sit-in outside the station on Wednesday, they accused the police of not taking action.

Fazlullah’s family accused Ikramullah, a resident of Bar Kali, of shooting the former dead. Ikramullah allegedly fled the scene after the incident.

The police registered a case against the accused. However, the deceased’s mother, sisters, relatives and other villagers protested that the police could have taken action and held a sit-in.

They carried placards and chanted slogans against the police administration. “We want justice; arrest the culprit” read the posters the family members were holding.

Fazlullah’s father-in-law Hidayat Saeed told the media a Khal police officer delayed the arrest even though the accused was taking shelter in a house in the neighbourhood. He gave the police a three-day deadline to arrest Ikramullah.
