1. Nutella Mug Cake
Who here can deny their love for Nutella? Nobody. Period. Get ready for a recipe which will sweep you off your feet.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons white granulated sugar
1 egg
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons Nutella
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a large coffee mug. Whisk well with a fork until smooth. Microwave on high for 1 1/2 – 3 minutes (time may vary).
- Top with whipped cream and/or chocolate syrup. Enjoy!
P.S. If you're tempted to add a fruit to this dessert, mash half a ripe banana and add in the mug before putting in the other ingredients.

2. Chocolate chip cookie dough mug cake
Love Bella Vita's giant cookie? While this recipe won't give you the same quantity but it sure as hell will give you the same delicious result.
Ingredients
1 egg
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1 tablespoon softened butter
3-4 tablespoons mini chocolate chips to top it off
Instructions
- Mix the ingredients together with a spoon
- Microwave for 1 1/2-2 minutes, or just until the top center of the cake has set. Serve with a dollop of ice cream and enjoy!

3. Simple 3-ingredient gooey chocolate mug cake
Sometimes it's just all about the classics. Here we go back to the basics with this easy mug cake recipe.
Ingredients
1 egg
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1-2 tablespoon cocoa powder (depending on how chocolate-y you want your cake)
Instructions
- Add the egg, powdered sugar and cocoa powder in a mug. Whisk together with a small whisk until well mixed. Microwave for 50-60 seconds, until the cake is cooked through (but not overcooked!)
- Top immediately with chocolate chips, hot fudge, whipped cream, or ice cream. Or go heavy with a load of whipped cream! Enjoy!
P.S. For a dark chocolate cake, substitute the cocoa powder with extra dark cocoa powder. For the topping: add 1/4 cup extra creamy whipped topping, mixed with 1/4 teaspoon vanilla.

4. Chocolate peanut butter mug cake
This cake is the love child of yummy, nutty peanut butter and rich chocolate. Trust us, you wouldn't want it any other way.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
3 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon peanut butter
Instructions
- In a large mug, whisk (with a small whisk or large fork) together the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt). Add milk, vegetable oil and peanut butter. Whisk until smooth.
- Cook in the microwave on high for 1 minute and 10 seconds. This recipe will rise a lot and then deflate. Serve immediately!

5. Chocolate chip brownie in a cup
This is the ultimate brownie recipe you will ever need. It'll leave your mouth full of chocolate-y goodness.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons sugar
1 firmly packed tablespoon light brown sugar
¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
pinch of salt
1 egg yolk
4 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Melt butter in microwave-safe mug. Butter should be melted, not boiling. Stir together butter, sugars, vanilla and salt. Stir in egg yolk. Add flour and cocoa powder and stir again until well combined. Finally, add chocolate chunks.
- Cook for about 45 seconds in microwave. Do not over cook. Microwave times may vary.

And if you're feeling a little adventurous here's an easy chocolate sauce to add an extra oomph to your chocolate dessert. (Mind you, Hershey's chocolate syrup does NOT qualify, it is a sorry excuse for chocolate).
Chocolate fudge sauce:
Because there's no such thing as too much chocolate.
Ingredients
2 cups powdered suagr
1 12 ounce can evaporated milk
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Combine all sauce ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to boil and cook for 8 minutes, stirring constantly. Enjoy on just about anything!
