It was a small affair with only around 40 people present. A reception will follow for the rest of the guests at The Oberoi, Gurgaon.

Shahid’s 23-year-old wife, Mira, hails from Punjab and is based in Delhi. She was an English (Hons) student and recently completed her graduation from the renowned Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College, Delhi University. She has also interned at the United Nations. Mira has no connections to Bollywood, or had up until now, and came into the limelight only after her link-up with Shahid.

The Bollywood heartthrob and Mira’s families are ardent followers of a Hindu group called Radha Soami Satsang Beas. That’s where the two met.

Mira, who calls Shahid by pet name Shadoo, was reportedly gifted a INR 2.3 million worth custom made ring on their engagement. Shahid also bought a new sea-facing apartment recently, which the couple decorated together.

The couple had a grand Punjabi sangeet event on 6th of July where Shahid donned on a red kurta with a darker shade of nehru jacket and black churidar to go with it. Mira wore a lemon coloured lehenga with a broad gold border. The couple danced to the occasion.

The sangeet playlist reportedly included several songs from Shahid's films - Mauja Hi Mauja, Tu Mera Agal Bagal Hain and Saree Ke Fall Sa.

ct | 9 years ago | Reply What is this obsession with India? Everytime I open ET page, its dominated by India news mostly of Bollywood and mostly sleazy. I thought Express Tribune sponsored by NY Times will have some journalistic integrity. It acts and presents itself as some cheap tabloid. Rupert Murdoch and his Fox would be more than happy to sponsor a newspaper like yours. Full of cheap publicity type of news.
