Govt announces five days off for Eid

All state offices and institutions will remain closed from from July 17 to July 21

The interior ministry on Monday announced a five-day holiday for the festivities of Eidul Fitr.

All state offices and institutions will remain closed from from July 17 to July 21.

Eidul Fitr celebrations mark the end of the Holy month of Ramazan. Ramazan started on June 19 in Pakistan and is the holy month during which Muslims all over the world observe abstain from eating and drinking during daylight hours.

Every year two Eids are celebrated in Pakistan as Peshawar observes Ramazan and Eid a day earlier.
