KHAR/ PESHAWAR:

As the weather took a tricky turn, one person died of a heatstroke in the city, while three others died in Gabari in Bajaur Agency when rain caused the roof to cave in.

A 50-year-old man identified as Gul Badshah died of a heatstroke, while five others were taken to hospital with the same condition on Monday, shared Rescue 1122 officials. The patients were initially treated by the rescue agency and later taken to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment. Due to the recent heatwave in Karachi, over 1,200 people lost their lives as sizzling temperatures, along with power outages, made the country’s financial hub a living hell.

Separately, three minors were killed when a roof collapsed in Bajaur Agency due to heavy rain. The political administration and local sources said the downpour took place in Gabari, in Bajaur Agency along the Pak-Afghan border. Murad, 8, Umair, 5, and Irshad, 3, were among the dead, while 10-year-old Faizur Rehman and Rahmat, 15, were injured.
