At the service resumption ceremony of Ayubia chairlift on Monday, Ghani said tourism was immensely important to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s economy and the government was making an all-out effort to reinvigorate the sector. “No matter where you go across the globe, tourists are given celebrity status by locals. They understand visitors not only bring foreign exchange into the country but [help foster a certain image],” he said.
He urged traders, hotel owners and transporters to treat tourists with hospitality. He expressed satisfaction over the chairlift’s repairs and said, “The service is a landmark for Ayubia.”
Elaborating on projects currently under way, Ghani said the construction of Dhamtor and Galiyat bypasses, and Murree Road’s second lane would soon be completed.
