Snow Leopard Foundation organised events at several schools to help young students become more aware of environmental issues in Koghuzi, Kajjo and Kalash Valley.

“The earth is a victim of pollution and other environmental hazards,” said the foundation’s chief, Khurshid Ali Shah, at one of the schools. “We can overcome these issues by keeping our environment clean.”

The events were organised at Ideal Public School Koghuzi, High School Kajjo and Government High School Barir where students were taught the valuable of preserving nature.

Snow Leopard Foundation Divisional Forest Officer Imtiaz Hussain said, “Students can help protect the environment by passing on knowledge they gain at schools and through their efforts to make the earth beautiful.” Hussain added the foundation planned to go to schools and talk about the environment so the importance of maintaining one’s surroundings could be cemented in the minds of the students.

In addition to these awareness sessions, the foundation has also set up nature clubs at schools.
