RAWALPINDI:

Customs officials will present a charge-sheet against model Ayyan Ali in the currency smuggling case on Monday at the Customs court in Rawalpindi.

Officials have reportedly charged the model with currency smuggling. The defence team is expected to plead not guilty and will likely produce private witnesses in the case.

The court will also hear the application of Customs intelligence to register a new money laundering case against the suspect.

Ali’s medical report, which has been drafted by District Headquarters Hospital senior gynaecologist, will also be submitted along with the charge-sheet. Sources claim the report states the suspect to be in good health.

On June 29, Ali’s bail plea against her detention by customs officials in the Lahore High Court was rejected.

Earlier that day, the Rawalpindi customs court had extended her judicial remand till July 6 and directed senior lawyers of the accused to attend the next hearing.
