Express April 26, 2010

GILGIT: Landslides in Gilgit halted the efforts to drain out water from an artificial lake that was formed after similar landslips last January.

The Frontier Works Organisation and Chinese experts, who are working together to reduce rising water levels in the lake, temporarily suspended their work , reports said.

Relief operations have also been stopped. Locals got panicked over the situation. Moreover, they are finding it difficult to breathe owing to dust clouds formed by the landslides.
