Sindh health minister Jam Mehtab Dahar has said that his department has taken effective measures to control dengue and malaria viruses in the city and very soon the spraying of 16 big nullahs and 600 small nullahs will be carried out. Dahar also said that all government hospitals had been directed to maintain high standards of cleanliness. "The health department is fully aware of its responsibility and there is a dire need to appreciate the positive steps of the department, not just to criticise it," he said. As part of his duty as health minister, Dahar claimed he had personally sprayed dirty nullahs to eradicate dengue and malaria viruses.
