"1,100 kilometre transmission lines and 93 grid stations are being installed to resolve the crisis," he added, while speaking to reporters in Multan.
Further adding that ensuring peace in Karachi is a top priority of the government.

Earlier, the Sindh High Court on Tuesday issued notices to the federal and provincial authorities on another plea seeking to question the K-Electric (KE) why it carried out prolonged power cuts in the city during the deadly heatwave that claimed the lives of over 1,200 people in the metropolis.
A division bench, headed by Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi, directed the federal and provincial law officer to submit the authorities’ replies by the first week of August.

A civil rights campaigner, Rana Faizul Hasan, has taken the federal minister for privatisation, along with the chairpersons of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra), several other executive officers to court for their failure to ensure the smooth supply of electricity to Karachi’s residents during the heatwave.
