An additional district and sessions judge on Monday sentenced a man who had killed his wife for ‘honour’ to life imprisonment. Munir Masih was convicted of murdering his wife Lovena for allegedly having an affair with someone. Lovena’s brother Razaq Masih had filed a complaint with the Nishtar Colony police under Section 302 (murder). He said that Munir Masih had a “bad character” and would beat up his sister over petty issues. He said that Munir Masih had kicked his sister out of his house several times but her family had played a reconciliatory role until he killed her in 2008.
