ATC extends Safoora attack suspects' remand
Police requests an extension for further investigation, remand extended till July 13
KARACHI:
An anti-terrorism court (ATC-I) extended on Monday the physical remand of three suspects of the Safoora bus attack till July 13 upon request of the police.
The alleged mastermind of the attack, Tahir Hussain Minhas alias Saeen, as well as Saad Aziz alias Tin Tin and Asadur Rehman alias Malik were produced before ATC-I in a number of cases.

The suspects, handcuffed and with faces covered, were brought to the court in armoured vehicles amid heavy security. According to reports police had requested an extension for further investigation.
However, along with an extension of the physical remand of the suspects, ATC-I ordered the police to submit all relevant reports on July 13.
The brutal bus massacre claimed the lives of 45 members of the Ismaili community on May 13.

Earlier on June 11, an anti-terrorism court remanded on Wednesday three suspects of the Safoora bus attack in cases of murdering civil society activist Sabeen Mahmud and policemen till June 15.
According to the court documents, the suspects had confessed their involvement in the killings of policemen as well as Mahmud during interrogation about other penal cases.
