Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Jahangir Tareen has filed a petition in Lahore High Court (LHC) challenging the delimitation carried for local government elections. He said the government had intervened in the Election Commission’s work by carrying out delimitation following an amendment to the Local Government Ordinance, 2013. He said the government had no powers to delimit constituencies. He requested the court to set aside the amendment and the delimitation.
