PESHAWAR:
Four sisters were killed and two children were injured when a man opened fire at them in Mohalla Husainia, Hashtnagri on Saturday.

Fazal Husain, an alleged local drug retailer, had a dispute with local property dealer Iqbal who was acting as a middleman for purchase of a house between the accused Fazal Hussain and the owner.

“Fazal had to pay Rs2 million to Iqbal but he was reluctant to pay it and this was a cause of frequent verbal disputes between the two,” said an official of the local police station, adding that on Saturday afternoon the accused came to the house of Iqbal and started beating him.

The daughters of Iqbal came out of their house to save him but the accused opened the fire, killing Ruqia Bibi, Rani Bibi, Nanhi and Farhana Bibi on the spot. Two children were also injured during the firing.

The accused managed to escape after the killings. Later on, the Rescue 1122 shifted the deceased and the injured to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH).

The two children are also stated to be in critical condition in the hospital.
