SSC results: Girls outdo boys in Abbottabad

The overall top 50 comprises 31 girls and 19 boys with several positions occupied by more than one candidates

Girls have once again outdone boys in the SSC examinations in Abbottabad. According to results announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, the district’s top three positions were all secured by girls.


In the science group, Mahroosha Shahzad stood first with 1,034 marks, Noorul Ain Fatima and Aleena Khawaja stood second with 1,027 marks each respectively. Laiba Munib secured the third position with 1,025 marks. Abbottabad’s average pass percentage was 72.4%. Syed Touseef Shah, Muhammad Hashim Sabir and Ahmed Hafeez followed with 1,024, 1,017 and 1,014 marks.


Things were no different in the humanities groups where Laiba Ismail, Atika Shoaib and Iqra Ziafat stood first, second and third with 916, 894 and 890 marks respectively. Boys lagged far behind with Muhammad Zeb securing 858 marks, Muhammad Amin and Muhammad Shaukat securing 848 and Usman Ali managing to get 821 marks.


The overall top 50 comprises 31 girls and 19 boys with several positions occupied by more than one candidates. Abbottabad BISE chairman says 57,253 candidates appeared in the 2015 examinations out of which 72.38% passed.
