QUETTA: The electricity in the Makran division of Balochistan was restored on Wednesday four days after four power pylons were destroyed as a result of strong rainfall and wind.

According to Qesco spokesperson Mohammad Afzal, the Qesco team worked day and night without security in a high-risk area and restored the 132KV main transmission line in Mand and Tump. “The team laid a new one-and-a-half kilometre transmission line,” Afzal said.

The four power pylons were destroyed in winds and rain on Saturday.

Kech, Gwadar and Panjgur districts have been particularly affected by the extreme weather, with the price of ice in some areas going up to Rs300 a kilogram.
